What We Do

Restoration and repair, done by hand

Antique Furniture Restoration

Chairs, tables and bed frames brought back piece by piece, spindles numbered and reset the way they were originally built.

Furniture Repair

Wobbly joints, structural breaks and everything that's come loose over the years, fixed properly instead of just glued and hoped for.

Refinishing

Staining and wood repair that takes a faded, worn finish back to something you'd be proud to have in the house again.

Upholstery

Worn or torn seats and backs reupholstered to match the character of the piece, not just patched over.

About

A workshop full of pieces waiting for their next stage

A. Carpenter Shop is run by Tony Adamski, a Master Carpenter, out of a workshop in Bremerton that's usually full of half-finished work: chairs with their spindles carefully numbered and set aside, dressers stripped back to bare wood, drawer pulls lined up ready to go back on.

Every piece that comes through the door gets the same close attention, whether it's a family heirloom that's been sitting in a garage for twenty years or a chair with a couple of loose joints that just needs tightening up.

Customers describe the shop as friendly and reasonably priced, with work clean and precise enough that they won't take their furniture anywhere else.

Before & After

After

"I took my grandfather's spindle bed frame in to see if they could possibly fix it for me as it had been sitting in my garage for the better part of 20 years... They said they could and they did and it is gorgeous! PopPop would be so proud!"

"I took my grandfather's spindle bed frame in to see if they could possibly fix it for me as it had been sitting in my garage for the better part of 20 years. (In the before pictures you can see it was looking more than a little worse for the wear). They said they could and they did and it is gorgeous! PopPop would be so proud!"

"This is such a wonderful store, they did the most beautiful job repairing my chair. Not to mention they have such a friendly staff who make you feel incredibly comfortable!! The pricing was also very reasonable and for the work they did it was worth it! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone needing their services, absolute 10/10!"

"We brought four basic oak chairs that I had picked up about 17 years ago. They were not in the greatest of shape when I got them (was pinching pennies), but they were elegant and simple. Over the next few years they started getting wobbly and loose... So they went into the basement to line for several years. Once money was more accessible, we decided to get them refinished and fixed. Let me tell you, after seeing them finished, am I soooo glad no one took them from the alley! The chairs are gorgeous, super sturdy, and spectacular! These folks are absolute professionals and masters in the woodworking craft! I'll be bringing more items for touch-ups and repairs. Thanks!"
